Greta is an international figure and has inspired a youth-led global climate strike movement, Fridays for Future, which urges cuts in carbon emissions. At a UN climate event in New York City she said, “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words… We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can talk about is money, and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!”
Highlights: She has two books, No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference (2019), a collection of her speeches, and The Climate Book: The Facts and the Solutions (2023). There is also a documentary, I Am Greta (2020).
