    Born in Detroit, Michigan, she rose to fame as the lead singer of The Supremes, who became Motown's most successful act during the 1960s and one of the world's best-selling female groups of all time. They remained the best-charting female group in history, with a total of twelve number-one hit singles on the US Billboard Hot 100. Her discography consists of 25 studio albums and 116 singles. She has sold over 100 million records worldwide. Diana achieved success and recognition for her portrayal of Billie Holiday in the film Lady Sings the Blues with a Golden Globe Award and Academy Award nomination.
